Things I am working on:
1. Child contact list. For emergency contact, but also when sending out flyers to the parents. I hope to get the parents more involved this year by giving them updates to how their child is progressing through the book and some stories that they have learned. This will also give a chance for the parents to contact the pastor, David, myself or a leader with any concerns they may have. 2. Decorate the rooms. Add Christian athlete posters and placement of flags in the game room. Post the pledges and the rules in the room. 3. Generate a mission statement for the club. This will be the goal for Bluffton Baptist AWANA to achieve and be consistence with the National and state mission statements. When would be a good time / day to set up this meeting? Before or after AWANA or another date? 4. Start a newsletter. Share information with leaders and parents. Including Commander notes and appreciation section for parents, leaders, sectary, Etc. 5. Continue to set theme nights. A good resource for Theme night ideas are located here. 6. Take the commanders test. This way I will be a certified AWANA commander. |
